Maximus was sitting down for his supper when an insistent tap rattled the window. He stood up and walked over to it, opened it wide and stepped back impatiently as a large red-tailed falcon sauntered through.
Rain was pouring outside and beginning to puddle on the sill, so he reached over the big bird and slammed the window shut. That’s when he noticed the pattern on the bird’s back. It formed an upside-down V in white feathers, whereas, except the tail, the rest of the beast was covered in light to dark brown feathers.

Haven Chapter 9Chapter 9 Transport For Three
They left that night, taking with them few provisions. What they did take, they tied up in two large cloths, one for each of them. Up through the complex tunnel network, they traveled, until they came to an iron grate that stretched from floor to ceiling, wall to wall.
Inset in the grate was a door on rusty hinges. Aaron grasped it and pulled mightily. It opened with much complaining and Aaron held his hand out in the direction of the door, bowing at the waist.

Delay Over

Sorry for the delay everybody, but Haven, Chapters 8-10 are finally in!!!!! I'm currently working on chapters 12-15. Yes, that means that Chapter 11 is finished, but I have yet to transfer the file to my MP3 player so I can upload it from the library. No, I still don't have internet at home, but I've managed to find a eay around that particular roadblock. So, hopefully the next four chapters don't take me nearly as long as the last four, but, we'll have to see. I can't guarentee anything, seeings how I've only written halfway through Chapter 12. Thanks for your patience!
